Oh, those funny Norwegians.

We got free calendars from SiO (the body that provides student housing) a few days ago.

Wow, free stuff. That's always good.

Then I realized that it was supposed to cheer us up in this cold, too dark winter. Check out the fine print.

15 degrees... Right.

Bet your air-conditioner back home can't go down to that temperature.

Snow snow snow

The novelty of winter, snow and sub zero temperatures (alas!), has passed for me. If you click on the photograph, you will see how fat and big the snow flakes are. This picture was taken around 12 noon and you will also notice how the sky is this weird white foggy colour and there is NO SUN.. NO SUN...NO SUN(deep breath).

I miss the sun-light, the heat and bright blue skies.

Something along the lines of this (my current desktop wallpaper) would be good.

It's the hard knock life...

So, term has started for some of us here at the University of Oslo.

While I gulp down more black coffee and try to get psyched for the new year, here's a picture of a sign that never fails to amuse me.

Short explaination: Oslo is moving towards an electronic ticket-thinggy for their public transport instead of the paper ticket which depended on the honour system. I guesss too many people were sneaking through. (Jose K and I have student tickets so we fall into the honourabe category).

They've been testing it since we got here and it's supposed to be functioning by 2006 but in the meantime...poor baby is

Ode to a Snowman

The rain, it came so suddenly.
And washed away the snow.
No time for us to say "goodbye"
Oh! Snowman of Oslo.

Postscript: The good news is that today's temperature is above 0 degrees and we could see grass again. I never thought that I would be so happy to see something green again...
